A Guide to Dining at DFW Airport
If you’re looking to travel in or out of the Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport, you might find your stomach beginning to growl. Instead of grabbing a bag of chips or candy bar from a vending machine or store, why not stop into one of the airport’s numerous restaurants? However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some of the eateries might not be open. Use this guide to learn what you can expect when you want to dine at any of the restaurants located at one of the most frequently visited superhub airports in the world.
What’s Open in Terminal A?
Terminal A houses numerous national chain restaurants including Dunkin’ Donuts, Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, and McDonald’s, but several locations stand out. Depending on your cravings, you should be able to find something to fill your stomach before you board.
- Bleu Mediterranean Bar: This restaurant serves cocktails and Mediterranean dishes including falafel, flatbreads, and soups. You’ll find this spot at gate A9.
- Ling & Louie’s: For a little Asian fusion fare, order food from this restaurant. Its menu features lettuce wraps, sushi, and wok-fried rice bowls. You can also enjoy American dishes such as burgers and meatloaf. You’ll find this restaurant at gate A13.
- Dallas Cowboys Club: Even if you’re not a fan of the Cowboys football team, you’ll enjoy their food. It’s located at gate A21.
- Twisted Root: A popular local burger joint, this restaurant also serves boozy milkshakes. Head over to gate A25 for its fare.
- La Madeleine: A French-inspired cafe, you can order a variety of sandwiches, soups, and salads. It’s also found at gate A25.
- Pappasito’s Cantina: This Tex-Mex restaurant serves classics including enchiladas, tamales, and margaritas. It’s located at gate A28.
Where Can You Eat in Terminal B?
Moving over to Terminal B, you’ll find that it offers similar restaurants to Terminal A. Most chains remain open, including Baskin-Robbins, Panda Express, and Subway. If you prefer sit-down establishments, these are some of the eateries you can enjoy:
- Hickory: The creation of Chef Kent Rathbun, Hickory is a barbecue restaurant that smokes all of its meat on-site. Dive into some mouthwatering brisket, spare ribs, and pork shoulder over at gate B20.
- Cantina Laredo: Another Tex-Mex restaurant, this one serves fajitas, and margaritas. You’ll find this one at gate B28.
- Rodeo Bar: For a quick beer or a shot before you board the plane, this place is the perfect stop. It sits at gate B32.
What Restaurants Are Open in Terminal C?
Piggybacking off the other two terminals, Terminal C has an abundance of fast-food chains open. You can grab a bite at Einstein Bros. Bagels, Caribou Coffee, Chick-fil-A, Pinkberry, Pizza Hut Express, and Starbucks Coffee. However, other restaurant options include the following:
- Dickey’s Barbecue Pit: As the largest barbecue franchise in the country, this restaurant serves a variety of dishes including pulled pork, ribs, and brisket. It’s found at gate C6.
- Pappadeaux’s Seafood Kitchen: Preparing Cajun fare, this restaurant prepares seafood dishes including gumbo, shrimp cocktail, crab cakes, and pan-seared tilapia. It’s located at gate C14.
- Maggiano’s Little Italy: Specializing in Italian-American cuisine, this eatery features numerous pasta, seafood, salad, and steak dishes. Head over to gate C17 to eat here.
What Can You Enjoy at Terminal D?
Home to some of the best local dining establishments in the airport, most of them are unfortunately closed due to COVID-19. You can still stop at several fast-food places including Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, Chick-fil-A, McDonald’s, and Starbucks. Some more upscale establishments include the following:
- Flying Saucer Draught Emporium: Known for its beer and bar fare, this local establishment is at gate D18.
- Whitetail Bistro: Another restaurant operated by chef Kent Rathbun, this eatery serves dishes such as tamarind-glazed salmon and pan-fried quail biscuit sandwiches. It’s found at gate D22.
- Grand Met Lounge: For an upscale dining spot where you can enjoy martinis and sushi, head to this restaurant at gate D23 right before security.
- Cru Food & Wine Bar: If you’re looking for a spot to order wine by the glass and some dessert, this is the spot for you. It also serves stone-fired pizza. Head to gate D27 to check it out.
- The Italian Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck: If you’ve heard of Wolfgang Puck, you know how delicious his food is. Order off the extensive menu and try pasta, pizza, and other types of Italian cuisine. It’s located at gate D34.
What About Terminal E?
The food offered at Terminal E includes mostly fast-food chain establishments. Here, you’ll find another Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, Caribou Coffee, Dunkin’ Donuts, Starbucks Coffee, and Wendy’s. You do have several other eatery options, including the following:
- Blimpie: A chain restaurant, Blimpie serves cold and hot submarine-style sandwiches along with numerous sides. You’ll find it at gate E21.
- Whataburger: A Texas institution, this fast-food chain is known for its honey butter chicken biscuits and burgers. Stop into its location at gate E27.
- Blue Mesa Taco and Tequila Bar: Featuring a variety of Mexican dishes, you can order tacos, fajitas, burritos, and margaritas. Head over to gate E31 for its food.
- Uno Due Go: A family-friendly chain restaurant, it serves Chicago-style pizza as well as steak, sandwiches, and pasta dishes. It sits at gate E36.
What Are the Masking Policies at the DFW Airport?
As of March 04, 2021, federal law stipulates that all employees and customers on DFW Airport property must wear masks that cover their noses and mouths. This includes people at any facility or in any vehicles on airport property. This law applies to anyone age 2 or older or anyone without a medical condition that prevents them from safely wearing a mask. Anyone who refuses to comply with these specific requirements can face removal from the airport’s facilities.
