The pickup is a workhorse vehicle, but nothing says it can’t also be fun and sporty. It’s a five-passenger compact truck that’s up to tough jobs but retains a sense of style both on and off the road. The Ford Maverick is Kelley Blue Book’s Compact Truck Best Buy of 2024 and Car and Driver’s Best Ten Award.
The Maverick comes with a standard gas powertrain or an eco-friendly hybrid model that provides the best of both worlds for consistent performance. Visit our experienced sales team at Planet Ford Dallas to learn more about this award-winning vehicle.
The Maverick is available in three configurations: the XL, XLT, and Lariat. Each trim comes standard with Ford’s 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine, or you can opt for the available 2.5-liter hybrid powertrain. The front-wheel-drive hybrid configuration provides 191 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 155 lb-ft at 4,000 rpm, offering a maximum of 4,000 pounds of towing capacity.
If you stick to the 2.0-liter traditional gas engine, you get 250 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 277 lb-ft of torque at 3,000 rpm. It has an eight-speed automatic transmission. According to EPA estimates, the Maverick’s hybrid engine provides 37 mpg combined, while the gas engine reaches either 21 mpg, 25 mpg, or 26 mpg combined, depending on your chosen configuration.
Even as the smallest pickup truck in the Ford lineup, the Maverick provides a complete portfolio of safety features. Standard protections include driver and passenger front airbags, special side-curtain airbags, and a driver-side knee airbag. Standard features include auto LED high beams, automatic on-off LED headlamps, and a rearview camera. The Maverick also has options for various sensor-based safety features, including a tire-pressure monitoring system, smart occupant-sensing airbags, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control, lane centering, rear parking sensors, and hill-descent control.
Ford helps keep you conveniently connected in the Maverick with built-in connectivity technologies. The automaker’s SYNC system lets you make calls, listen to music, and open navigation features, and you can use voice activation to access SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link. You can also use your favorite apps by syncing your phone to the Maverick’s built-in touch screen through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Music lovers will appreciate the standard six-speaker audio system, and in the Lariat model, you can upgrade to an eight-speaker, 660-watt Bang & Olufsen sound system.
The Maverick accommodates five people comfortably. In the XL model, the driver and front passenger can enjoy bucket front seats, a six-way manual adjustable driver’s seat, and a four-way adjustable passenger seat. Rear passengers on the bench can stow small items in the side map pockets. Even with all seats filled, there’s still plenty of room to sit back and relax in over 100 cubic feet of passenger volume. The Maverick adds a special touch for when you’re camping or attending games or concerts: built-in bottle openers on the tailgate.
